Ways to Play

Different ways to play with your custom cards

Seek-A-Boo

2+ players  ♡  18 months+

This is inspired by the Seek-A-Boo! game for children ages 18 months and older. The adult pre-selects 5 or more pairs from the deck and sets the rest of the cards out of reach. Place one card from each pair face-down on the floor in front of the child and hold the other cards in your hand.

Show the face from one card in your hand to the child and ask them to find the match from the floor (ex: “Can you find Daddy?”) The child then flips over one card, of their choice, from the floor. If it is not a match, they place it back, face-down. If it is a match, celebrate and set the pair where they can see it. Repeat with each card in your hand until the child has found every match.

Memory / Matching Game

2+ players  ♡  3 years+

Shuffle and place all the cards face down in neat rows. For each player’s turn, choose two cards and turn them face up so all players can see. If they match, collect them and take another turn. If not, place them face down on the table in the same place and the turn ends. Play until all the pairs are taken. The player with the most matching pairs wins.

Fast Match

2+ players  ♡  3 years+

Shuffle and spread all the cards face up on the table and GO! All players play at once, collecting pairs at the same time. Only grab the cards after you see a matching pair. Play until all the cards are taken. The player with the most matching pairs wins.

Go Fish

2+ players  ♡  3 years+

Shuffle and deal seven cards to each player, then scatter the rest of the deck face down, like a “fish pond” in between the players. Everyone looks at their cards and places any matching pairs face-up in front of them.

The game begins. For each turn, ask any player for a card that you need to complete a pair. For example: “Mom, do you have Grandpa?” If Mom has the Grandpa card, she hands it over to make a pair. Put the pair of cards together face-up in front of you and take another turn. If Mom does not have the Grandpa card she says, “Go fish.” Take a card from the fish pond. If that card is the Grandpa card, place the pair face-up on the table and your turn is over. If the card you pick up is not the Grandpa card, keep the card in your hand and your turn is over.

If you run out of cards in your hand during your turn, pick up a card from the fish pond and ask any player for the match. If you complete a pair, repeat these steps until your turn is over.

When there are no cards left in the fish pond the game is over. The player with the most pairs wins.

Old Maid / Lucky One

(video coming soon)

2+ players  ♡  3 years+

This game is our version of Old Maid. Remove one card from the deck so it no longer has a match. Shuffle and deal the remaining cards. Every player holds their cards in their hands and looks at their own cards. Place any matching pairs face-up in front of them on the table. Take turns blindly drawing one card from the person to your right to add to your hand in hopes of getting a match. The player holding the last card without a match wins.
